Section 5: > How The Life Insurance Plan Works > If You Become Disabled

If You Become Disabled

If you become totally disabled while covered under the plan and before you reach age 60, your coverage will remain in effect and you will not have to pay additional premiums. Your beneficiary will receive the full amount of your insurance if your total disability continues until the date of your death. (For a definition of "total disability" see Glossary.)

Within one year of the end of coverage, you must submit proof that the total disability began while you were covered. You'll also have to submit proof of continued disability on a yearly basis.
