Dependent Child Turns 23

So, your dependent child is 23 and no longer eligible as a dependent under the Health Fund; does this mean that he or she will be completely without coverage? Perhaps not, your dependent may be eligible for COBRA Continuation Coverage.

Benefit Plan Checklist
 

The Administrative Office will automatically mail a notice of COBRA eligibility upon your covered dependent child's 23rd birthday.

 

COBRA Continuation Coverage can continue for up to thirty-six months provided timely elections and payments are made.
